NEXT STEPS

The Stehekin Community Plan is now moving in the draft review phase. Over the past several months, the project team and Advisory Group have been meeting regularly to work through key topics, review community feedback, and help shape the draft plan. This includes recent discussions with Chelan County PUD and continued work on land use, zoning, and other priority areas. This phase of the process focuses on reviewing, refining, and finalizing the draft Community Plan, with several upcoming opportunities for both the Advisory Group and the broader community to stay involved.

• The draft Community Plan is being shared with the Advisory Group for review and feedback. 
• The project team will incorporate that feedback and refine the plan into a final draft. 
• The final draft will then be shared with the broader community. 
• A community meeting will be held to present the plan and outline additional opportunities for comment. 
• The plan will move through formal County and State review processes, including additional opportunities for public input.

• April 1, 2026 – Draft plan will be sent to the Advisory Group for review and feedback 
• April 17, 2026 – Deadline for Advisory Group feedback 
• Late April / Early May (2 weeks) – Project team incorporates feedback and refines the plan into a final draft 
• Early May 2026 – Final draft shared with the Advisory Group 
• Early May 2026 – Final draft shared with the broader community via the project website 
• Mid-May 2026 – Community meeting to present the final plan and outline additional opportunities for comment 
• Late May / Early June 2026 – Plan submitted to the Chelan County Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners 
• Early July 2026 – Plan submitted to the Washington State Department of Commerce for 60-day review 
• July / August 2026 – SEPA environmental review and 30-day public comment period 
• September–December 2026 – Comprehensive Plan adoption process, including public meetings with the Planning Commission

Community input will continue to be an important part of this process.

• Review the draft plan when it is released in early May 
• Attend the community meeting in mid-May 
• Provide input during the SEPA review and public comment period this summer
